New Year in thirty-degree heat needs a different visual logic. Fir trees and snow look alien here, so we took what works at any latitude: sparkle, mirrors, silver and gold. Glitter Party is a New Year party without cotton wool and tinsel, but with the feeling of a celebration.

New Year's Eve is the hardest date of the year for an organiser. Venues are booked months ahead, the artists are scheduled and the suppliers work at double rates. We close the dates in advance and keep our own equipment, so we do not depend on the market in December.

The format suits a private party at a villa, a corporate event in a hotel and an open New Year's night in a bar or a beach club.

What we took on

Booking the venue and the artists in advance, before the peak season
New Year decor: mirrors, metallics, glowing installations, a photo zone
Sound and light, lasers, confetti cannons and special effects for the midnight chimes
A DJ, a host, a show programme and the countdown
A bar, catering and staff on site
Photo and video of the New Year's night

New Year equipment, bar and decorations

In December the island's equipment goes months ahead, so the event equipment is our own: a JBL sound system, speakers and subwoofers, radio microphones, a mixing desk, Pioneer DJ equipment, an LED screen, lasers, confetti cannons and CO2. Sound and lighting equipment hire in Phuket for New Year's night is booked in advance — with delivery, setup and a technician.

Catering and a mobile bar for New Year's night: champagne for the chimes, bartenders, signature cocktails, a buffet or a banquet, waiters. The New Year styling and decorations — mirror installations, light-up letters, garland rigging, a photo zone and the dressing of the hall — are made to one sketch.

Separately we take on the New Year styling of hotels, restaurants and offices: trees, light figures, garlands and window displays.
