What you can rent and what it costs
Double D Project is an event agency in Phuket with its own equipment stock. Special effects, a stage, projection, power, stands — everything that is not sound or light, but without which an event does not come together. We deliver, install, stay on duty at the venue and pack down afterwards: a villa in Rawai, a hotel in Patong, a restaurant in Chalong, a yacht or a beach venue in Bang Tao.

Special effects: smoke, fire, bubbles
Smoke is not there for its own sake — without it the light beams are invisible. A light haze from a hazer makes the lighting rig visible, while heavy low smoke creates a cloud at floor level for a first dance or an artist entrance.

Stage, tents and power
A beach and a villa are venues with no ready-made infrastructure. The stage has to be built, the shade put up, and sometimes even the power socket brought along. A generator is needed where the house supply cannot carry light and sound at the same time; a stabiliser is needed where the voltage jumps.

What people book for a particular occasion
Wedding. A low smoke machine for the first dance — the cloud spreads across the floor and does not rise to face level. Cold fireworks for bringing out the cake: sparks without heat or smoke, and it works indoors. A hazer so that the light beams become visible in the photos.
Corporate event. A projector and screen for the presentation, a stage for the speakers, a simultaneous interpretation system if the guests speak different languages. A laptop and a clicker — the small things people remember an hour before the start.
Birthday. A karaoke system, CO2 cannons on the dance floor, a bubble machine for the children's part of the evening, a foam machine if there is a pool and the venue allows it.
Gender reveal. A smoke grenade for a short moment, a smoke cannon for a larger venue, a pyrotechnic cannon when it needs to be seen from the other end of the beach.
What is and is not allowed at different venues
Villa. Almost everything is usually allowed, but with the owner's conditions on noise — in Phuket many villas ask for outdoor music to stop after 22:00. Open flame by the pool and near wooden decks is agreed separately.
Hotel. The strictest rules. Pyrotechnics and a flamethrower almost always have to be agreed in advance with the events department, and sometimes their technician has to be present. Smoke can set off fire detectors — this is checked before booking.
Yacht. Open flame is ruled out. CO2, confetti and LED effects work. The equipment runs on batteries — a generator is not put on board.
Beach. The freest venue for effects, but the most dependent on the wind: smoke is blown away, and light structures need weighting. There is usually no electricity on the beach, so a generator and cables are included from the start.
Electrics: when you need a generator
The household supply at a villa is enough for music and basic lighting. As soon as a light programme, an LED screen, smoke machines and a stage are added, the power runs short — the lights start flickering and the equipment trips into protection. A 5,500 W petrol generator closes that gap; power cables and a stabiliser deal with voltage spikes, which are not unusual on the island.

No, these are separate items. Logistics start at 2,000 ฿ for a car and 5,000 ฿ for a truck; setup with connection and the de-rig start at 2,000 ฿ per event.
How far in advance should equipment be booked?
The earlier the better — in high season popular items are booked out well ahead. Message us with the date and we will tell you what is available.
Do you work on yachts and at villas?
Yes. We regularly set up equipment on yachts, at villas, beach venues, hotels and restaurants in Phuket. The equipment and power are chosen separately for each venue.
What do I need for a karaoke party?
A karaoke system is 10,000 ฿; people usually add a TV or a projector with a screen and sound equipment. All of it can go into one request.
