Weather, sea and prices by month — when to plan a wedding, a yacht party or a corporate event.
The best time for events in Phuket is November to April: the dry season, a calm sea on the west coast and cloudless sunsets. The most sought-after dates are December to March and New Year: venues cost more and book up two to three months ahead. From May to October the south-west monsoon brings short showers, mostly in the afternoon, and a rough sea off the west beaches — but venues are cheaper and freer, and you need a covered back-up.

Holidays and peaks
- New Year and Christmas. Venues and artists cost the most; book two to three months ahead.
- Chinese New Year. Many groups from Asia — yachts and hotels are busy.
- Songkran in April. A water festival across the island; allow for closed streets.
A rain plan
From May to October every open-air event needs a covered option: a covered terrace at the same venue or a canopy from 5,000 ฿. For a yacht we keep a back-up date and a route on the sheltered side.
