Built to the site, not to a catalogue

A stage on a beach, a stage on a hotel lawn and a stage in a ballroom are three different problems. Sand needs a load-spread base. Grass needs levelling. An indoor room has a ceiling height that decides whether anything can be rigged above the performers at all. We survey the site first and build the structure to it — which is why stage work is quoted per project rather than by the square metre.

The same crew that builds the stage sets up the sound and light that go on it. Nothing depends on two suppliers agreeing about who was meant to bring the cable ramps.

Prices are per event and indicative — they cover the item itself. The final quote depends on duration, venue access, power and crew. The full list is in our equipment catalogue.

Photo zones people actually use

A photo zone earns its cost only if guests queue for it. The ones that work have a reason to stand there: a 360-degree rig that produces a video guests post the same night, a built backdrop that matches the event rather than a generic printed banner, or an LED bar station that looks good in every photo taken near it. We build the structure, light it properly — an unlit photo zone photographs badly no matter how good the backdrop is — and take it away afterwards.

Where we build

Beaches, hotel lawns, villa terraces, ballrooms, restaurants and yachts across Phuket, plus Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Phang Nga and Bangkok. Yacht and beach builds have the tightest constraints — movement, spray, sand and limited power — and are the ones most worth surveying properly before anyone quotes a number.

Frequently asked questions

How much does stage rental cost in Phuket?

A stage with an LED screen structure starts at 45,000 THB. Stage-only builds are quoted per project, because the price is driven by the site — sand, grass and a ballroom floor need different structures.

Can you build a stage on the beach?

Yes, and we do it regularly. Sand needs a load-spreading base and a levelled deck. It is a survey job first: we look at the site, the tide line and the access route before quoting.

Do you build custom photo zones?

Yes. A signature photo zone built to your design starts at 20,000 THB; 3D and 360-degree zones are 15,000 and 10,000 THB. We build it, light it and remove it afterwards.

Do you supply the DJ booth as well?

Yes — a standard booth from 2,000 THB, or an LED booth from 10,000 THB. Since we also supply the DJ equipment and the sound, the booth is sized to the gear that goes in it.

Is assembly included in the price?

Yes. Delivery, assembly, cable routing, dismantling and site clearance are part of the rental. Our own crew does the build — we do not subcontract the structure.

Can you work with the venue's own restrictions?

That is most of the job. Ceiling height, rigging points, noise curfews and what a property will and will not allow are checked during the survey, before anything is promised to you.

How far in advance should I book a stage?

Earlier than equipment — built structures need a survey and a build plan. Two to four weeks is comfortable, more in high season.

Structure and power in our own stock — items and rental prices

Everything below belongs to Double D Project and is built by our own crew. Prices are per event; staging almost always travels by truck, so budget 5,000 THB for transport rather than 2,000, and the minimum order is 15,000 THB. Larger stages, roof structures and multi-level builds are quoted per project after a site visit — on Phuket the ground condition matters as much as the dimensions.

Stage, 3.6 × 6 × 0.7 m rental

A 21-square-metre modular deck at 700 mm height, with black skirting and steps. Enough for a live band with a drum riser, a wedding ceremony platform, a conference speaker with a lectern and a screen, or a DJ booth raised above a crowd. Modular, so it can be built narrower and longer, or squarer, depending on the room. Levelling legs handle sloping villa lawns, which on Phuket are more common than flat ones.

Box truss rental

Truss sections carrying moving heads, wash, LED panels and banners at the height where lighting actually flatters faces. Base plates for sand and ballast for wind come with it.

Lighting tripod rental

T-bar tripods that do the same job faster and cheaper for villa-sized rigs.

Drum riser and platform sections rental

Small raised sections for a drummer, a percussionist, a saxophonist or a string duo, so the live segment is visible over a standing crowd. Built from the same modular decking as the main stage.

Dance floor and ground protection rental

Decking and covering for grass, sand and pool surrounds, so that heels work and the venue’s lawn survives. Villa owners increasingly require ground protection in the rental contract — worth checking your villa agreement before the event rather than after.

Generator, 6 kW rental

A silenced generator delivered with fuel and positioned far enough from guests that nobody hears it. The standard answer for beach ceremonies, island events, garden setups away from the house, and older villas whose supply cannot carry a PA plus lighting plus a screen. We survey the venue’s board in advance and tell you whether you need one.

Voltage stabiliser rental

Phuket’s mains voltage sags during the evening peak in several areas, and sagging voltage is what kills amplifiers and digital consoles. It sits between the supply and the rack.

Distribution and cabling rental

Distribution boxes, RCD protection, cable ramps and matting per additional run. Cables crossing a guest walkway get ramped and taped, not left loose — a small cost and the difference between a professional build and a liability.

Simultaneous interpretation system rental

A complete system: soundproof interpreter booth, transmitters and receivers with headsets for the audience, integrated with the room’s PA. Booked for MICE programmes and conferences mixing Russian, English, Thai and Chinese speakers. Interpreters are arranged separately once you name the language pairs.

Event staff rental

Crew for load-in, build, on-site support and strike. For a stage, truss and LED build this is not optional — it is what turns delivered equipment into a finished venue on schedule.
