# Sunset Therapy — a sunset party in Phuket

Source: https://www.doubledproject.com/en/portfolio/sunset-therapy-eng

Sunset Therapy in Phuket: a sunset party at a clifftop venue — sound and light rental, DJ and saxophonist, decor, catering and a mobile bar.

A sunset over the Andaman Sea lasts about forty minutes, and the whole dramaturgy of a party like this is built around them. An hour before sundown — a lounge, a live instrument and cocktails; at the moment of sunset — silence, photographs and a shared toast; after — a smooth shift into the dance part. Sunset Therapy is built on exactly this logic.

The format is deliberately calm: warm light instead of club light, deep house and live saxophone instead of a dense beat, lounge furniture instead of a dance floor all evening. It sits well on a [private party](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/private-party-phuket) for friends, an anniversary or an informal meeting of partners.

We hold evenings like this at venues with a view of the water — from a [restaurant](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/locations/restaurants) on a cliff to a private [villa](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/locations/villas) with a terrace above the sea.

## What we took on

- Choosing a venue with a sunset view and the right orientation of the terrace
- The timing of the evening to the exact time of sundown
- [Sound](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/catalogue/sound) and warm light, garlands and candles
- A [DJ](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/dj-phuket), a [saxophonist](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/saxophonist-phuket) and live vocals
- A lounge, a bar, catering and service
- Photo and video in the sunset light

## Sound, light, bar and decor for a sunset evening

The sunset format does not like volume, but demands clean sound. The event equipment is our own: a JBL [sound system](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/sound-equipment-rental-phuket), [speakers](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/pa-speaker-rental-phuket) for the terrace, a mixing desk, [radio microphones](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/microphone-rental-phuket) and in-ear monitors for the saxophonist, Pioneer [DJ equipment](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/dj-equipment-rental-phuket), warm [lighting](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/catalogue/light) fixtures and garlands. Sound and [lighting equipment](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/light-equipment-rental-phuket) hire in Phuket is available on its own — with delivery, setup and a technician.

Catering and a mobile bar for the sunset part: Aperol, sparkling wine, signature cocktails and tapas, bartenders and waiters. The decorations and styling — lounge furniture, fabrics, candles in vases and flowers — work for the warm palette rather than arguing with the sky.

The format assembles easily into an anniversary, an engagement or a romantic dinner for two — with the same light and live music.
