A restaurant sits between a [villa](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/locations/villas) and a [hotel](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/locations/hotels): the kitchen already exists, nothing has to be cooked from scratch, and the atmosphere is livelier than a banquet hall. It suits [birthdays](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/birthday-party-phuket) for 20–60 guests, small [corporate events](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/corporate-events-mice-phuket), anniversaries and daytime kids' parties. We find the place, negotiate the buyout and bring everything else.

## Buyout or minimum spend

Restaurants in Phuket almost never charge rent. They work on a deposit: you guarantee a spend, and for that time the room is yours. If your guests eat and drink to that figure, the deposit is simply absorbed into the bill. If they do not, the difference stays with the restaurant. So the real question is not "what does the venue cost" but "what minimum can your group realistically reach" — and we help you judge that honestly.

## What to settle in advance

- **Full buyout or part of the room.** A separate terrace is cheaper, but strangers will be sitting nearby — for a birthday with a host and music that rarely works.
- **Your own music.** Not every restaurant allows a [DJ](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/dj-phuket) and outside [sound](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/catalogue/sound): they have agreements with neighbours and volume limits. We check before the deposit is paid.
- **Finish time.** Most venues close at 23:00–24:00. If the evening has to run longer, you want a villa.
- **Cake and alcohol from outside.** Usually allowed against a corkage fee. We fix the amount in writing.
- **Space for equipment.** A [DJ booth](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/dj-booth-rental-phuket), [speakers](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/pa-speaker-rental-phuket) and a [photo zone](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/photo-zone-phuket) take floor area that has to come out of the seating plan.

## Formats

Birthdays for 20–60 guests are the most frequent booking. Corporate dinners for smaller teams. Anniversaries and family dinners where the food matters more than a dance floor. Daytime kids' parties with entertainers. Hen parties on a private terrace. Dinner after a [beach wedding](https://www.doubledproject.com/en/services/beach-wedding-phuket) ceremony.

Venue prices are indicative and depend on season, day of the week and guest count — high season from November to April costs more. Payment terms: a 50 % prepayment (non-refundable), the balance 7 days before the event.

## Frequently asked questions
**How much does it cost to book a restaurant in Phuket for a party?**

A minimum spend from 30,000 THB. It is not a rental fee: the amount is absorbed into food and drink rather than added on top of the bill.
**Can we bring our own DJ and sound to a restaurant?**

Not everywhere. Restaurants have volume limits and agreements with neighbours. We check this before the deposit is paid, so the music does not get switched off in the middle of the evening.
**How late do restaurants run for a private party?**

Usually until 23:00–24:00. If the evening has to go longer, a villa is the better venue — the time limits there are softer or absent.
**Can we bring our own cake?**

Generally yes, against a corkage fee. We agree the amount in advance so it does not appear in the final bill.
**Restaurant or villa for a birthday of 40 people?**

A restaurant if the food matters and you do not need a dance floor until dawn. A villa if you want your own music, a pool and freedom on timing. We quote both and let you compare.
